DriveTime: Seattle

Where to begin in describing the DriveTime Firsts of this episode?

• First episode shot outside the Boston area
• The debut of two new studios -- Studio R1 and StudioFR
• The first (and hopefully last) time Ravi is put into the backseat

Overall, everything is topsy-turvy as Ravi and Sonia enjoy a comfy ride around Seattle with Jacob Sayles, who describes his Free Ride Cabs concept.

Nice show R&S. When I asked previously about Studio "R", I almost added "H" as another alternative.

I've ridden in Checker Marathons and they are the bomb! You can stretch your legs all the way out... ahhhh! Too bad they went out of business. Now you have to squeeze into the back seat of a modified Chevy or some crap like that.

Can't wait for the next installments.

Hi Ravi and Sonia,
Home movies were never like this!

That was really fun to share your vacation with you guys.

Sonia, you are so funny when petting the horse and looking out of the telescope.

And Ravi, "Mmmmmmmm", nice Homer Simpson moment.

joe c -- stretching *my* legs is a big deal! It was so darn roomy one could have had a nice little cocktail party in the back (with room for dancing!)

steve -- Mmmmmmmmm.... space needle!

Whee... that was just too much fun.
I wish I'd had a handycam for my vacation... we geeked it up but it wasn't half as much fun as your seattle trip looked. LOL

FYI, the tower (w/o a needle) here in San Antonio is actually taller than the needle in Seattle but we don't have the gorgeous view you guys saw from there. I'm jealous!

Update soon... can't wait!

Have you seen the tv show on Discover network is it where the Cabdriver quizzes contestants driving around manahattan? They Obviously ripped some of their concept from Drivetime. - okay, you know these "reality shows" are often heavily scripted - Jason Sayles should have put you out for not being amusing enough as the surprise funny ending. Ravi, you are such a kid - I love the moment where you turn on the light - and catching the canadian tour guide talkign about stacking the milky way bars. . . mmmmmmmm The clean/ sterile shots in the seattle cars were very nice. Sonia petting the horse! Yesss!

lehsa -- can you go up this san antonio tower? And the views aren't as good? Or can you not go up it?

johnny -- I've not seen said show on Discovery (we're on the $8/month cable tv plan -- we get Spike and MSNBC!) "clean and sterile"... does that mean Studio-A and Studio-V need some interior clean-up?!

serra -- we'll give you a little more Seattle in our next DriveTime:Seattle (forthcoming, I promise!)

Well it's open to the public but I'm just saying... seeing Seattle from the needle is prettier than seeing San Antonio... but then I haven't been up in our tower in a while. I could be wrong but that view you had of Seattle from uptop just blew me away.

A friendly suggestion:
Love your vlog, but am wondering why it takes so long to download even with my broadband connection. I watch other vlogs, such as www.rocketboom.com and www.poetryvlog.com and they download quickly. Maybe you could fiddle with your compression rate to speed up the download?
