Labor Day Update

It's a return to the streets of Boston for this Labor Day Update. Ravi invites questions about DriveTime in gearing up for the next batch of episodes and Sonia provides navigation at multiple points of opportunity.

That's what happens when Carol and I drive, she's the navigator, always telling me which way to go.

She prefers windy shortcuts, while I prefer straight routes.

Funny stuff. You guys are so cute! ^_^ Kawaii I think is the japanese term.

Looking fwd to what you guys have for us next week. Out of all the vblogs I watch and most of them are kind of strange and odd... yours is the most normal and I like it the best. I keep up with it more than even Ze Frank! You are my Number 1 show online.

Keep the up the good work!
Have a fun and safe Labor day... I will be taking advantage of sales online and off. :D

In this segment, were you driving around Brookline? So many trees. I just moved my son up to Brookline. (He's going to grad school this year) and it looked like his neighborhood.

Anyway, the Northwest was cool, but can't wait for the ole Beantown and New England vibe again. How about a some kind of leaf-peeping segment in October?

We luv y'all,
-jc

What's with the route confusion? Avoiding the Big Dig?

Is that a new car? Where did that sun roof come from? It looks suspiciously clean?

hey guys
got a tad bit of tech feedback for you:
- try to encode it without black bars on top/bottom
- for future url showing during the clip, try some background bar for those, or outline the text. it might get more readable (there was none in this episode)

keep up the nice work, i enjoy it every time

Hi Ravi, Sonia,

Could you bring back the . . . was it, cultural minute? I love hearing about interesting books, and that guy recommended some really great music!

I also was one of those people who moved on Sept. 1st, to Cambridge from Brooklyn, NYC. Thanks for giving me some great ideas for things to do now that I'm here! (The board game store, mountain biking, seeing the end of the year art show, etc.) Any more segments on local interesting things to do here in Boston would be greatly appreciated!

(I like how I'm making requests for your show . . . as if you don't get enough of those.)

Anyway, keep up the "strong work" as my doctor friends would say.

Eek! I don't think I ever threw in my own comment/response for this psuedoside.

steve -- sometimes in Boston, there are no straight routes! (sounds like a fortune cookie message...)

Thanks lehsa -- if we ever need some juicy movie poster promo like quotes about DriveTime, we'll turn to you! ;-)

joe c -- we often do drive through Brookline, but I think we were relegated to the Brigham circle area of Boston for this segment. Leaf-peeping segment is a great idea. Thanks!

hey anonymous -- route confusion was due to a morning stop at a grocery store and then a short (and windy) route of probably 1/4 mile. Suspiciously clean sounds good. Any kind of clean sounds good! We've been in Studio-V (which is cleaner and sleeker and yes, does have a sunroof) since the start of the World Cup Edition. The fate of Studio-A hangs in the balance.

yo el dooglas -- two clips for seattle was mucho of a feato for us since we usually only have one DriveTime for any given week in Boston. Hopefully the disappointmento has subsidedo. Bungo!

german jan -- thanks for the tech tips. Any technical improvements always seem to get shunted as I'm quickly slapping together an episode (there I go, making excuses!) I *will* try to encode in true widescreen. Thanks again!

jmauck -- welcome aboard! If you watch all the episodes in a row you'll pick up on the "Lost-like" continuity secrets. When you do, let me know what they are.

And welcome to town Sydney -- moving to Cambridge from Brooklyn is a kind of reverse commute move, no? We welcome all requests, so keep 'em coming. And Peter will be thrilled to know there's a hunger for one of his Cultural Minutes (which usually clock in well *over* one minute).
