Sonia kicks off a jam-packed DWCE by summoning name suggestions for the soccer ball from the mysterious
DriveTime Magic Hat, which prompts the first instance of venturing into the
DriveTime Cutting Room Floor. In the end, Ravi tabs two (or is it three?) finalists.
Plus -- in anticipation of the World Cup Quarterfinals -- Ravi and Sonia demonstrate the
DriveTime Corner Kick.

I'm with Sonia. Long live Fifa the ball!
I still like Adiba but I can go for Fifa. :D

I don't know about all of this Fifa sentiment... it's like naming one's dog Petco!
For the record, the full name I'm proposing is Antonio Fahrgeist (aka. Huggy Ball)
You're just making this complicated aren't you Ravi? *wink wink*
I still like Adiba. ;P
~L~
I'm for Huggy Ball just because of the long explanation that will have to be made each time someone responds "Huggy Ball? Why Huggy Ball?" :)
How can you not like Antonio Fahrgeist (aka. Huggy Ball)?
too awesome
Well, of course I have to cast my vote for my nominee, Fifa. But really, I thought "DriveGeist" or "FahrenGeist" (driving spirit) really did it in terms of appropriateness for DriveTime.

By the way, Sonia, thanks for the vote(s) of confidence!!

Fahrengeist. No further discussion needed.
Fifa ... hmmm.... Pheepha?
Feefah ... fo fum ...
We'll vote for "Fifa," with a pet name of "Fifi" ... or "Huggyball," which since the proper name is Fifa, will take even LONGER to explain ... :)
Laura and Randy
fahrgeist is great
and even though driving/to drive translates to "fahren" in german, it would still be reduced to "fahrgeist", nobody would say "fahrengeist"....
My vote goes to Antonio Fahrgeist, a.k.a Huggy Ball. The six-degrees-esque explanation is just too good to pass up.
Yeah I like the name Fifa too. It just rolls off your tongue.
I choose "Fargeist" for the following reason:
In "bizarro" Seinfeld world the character of Fargus (which sounds a lot like Fargeist) represents the "good" version of Neuman. Now the character of Neuman is played by the indomitable actor, Wayne Knight. This happens to be the same family name a one Michael Knight a.k.a. the "Night Rider," which brings us back to the ubiquitous David Hasselhoff. So by my logic a vote for Fargeist is a vote for "Hasselhoff the Ball." That's right oh discriminating DriveTime Magic Hat, stick that in your pipe & smoke it.
Antonio Fahrgeist aka. Huggy Ball is my choice for the name of the ball.
Huggy Balls nickname caould even be HB.
Aw man!
The Drivetime Wiki article got deleted.
:(
Hmm, I'm liking Huggy Ball aka HB
I'm also with Sonia too.
i vote for FIFA
Huggy Ball! Love Ravi's long winded, demented logic.
Thanks all for the thoughts/votes on ball name. We're tabulating them based on ancient formula passed down by DriveTimers of yore... and we're talking with "the ball" of course.
We'll have a naming ceremony in our Pre-World Cup Final edition!
MY VOTE!
once world cup is over try something new. Let's hear about some NASCAR!
My first dog's name was Fifi (Yes, it was a french poodle. Look man, I was only 5 years old!) - so I vote for Fifa!
