DriveTime Tax Holiday!

There is no new episode of DriveTime this week due to the April 17th tax deadline, which I think is actually April 18th for Massachusetts in lieu of the fact that there will be redcoats and minutemen battling at the crack o' dawn on Monday and thousands of human gazelles moving en masse from Hopkinton to Boylston Street.

Think of it as our simple gift for you -- instead of the 10 minutes spent watching DriveTime, you can crank out a 1040EZ!

You are correct. Fox News reports, "...it just so happens that the third Monday in April is celebrated in Massachusetts and Maine as “Patriots' Day” (the colonial kind, not the gridiron kind, although I’m sure some diehard fans would argue otherwise). That means the federal emplyees who work at the huge IRS processing center in Andover, Massachusetts have the day off.

As a result, residents of five states in the Northeast and the District of Columbia get an extra day—to Tuesday April 18th—to file their federal tax returns this year. The affected states are: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont."

I already filed, and shot three videos today. Not in a car mind you, but it was so nice nad sunny that we shot a few things out on the back porch!

I was checking for a new DriveTime in my FireAnt aggregator since Friday and just took a look at the site.

Now I'm looking forward to next Friday!

Thanks Ravi for giving me even more time to complete my taxes..

:-(

I would rather watch Drivetime and file an extension..

You should post one quick shot of Studio V completely filled with tax forms, with a forlorn muffled rustling within.

ken -- hope your tax filing went well! Maybe that extra 9 minutes helped you find an extra deduction or two?

steve -- interesting info on checking for DriveTime in FireAnt. Hmmm... I'd pondered the merits of making a short video post to the effect of "No episode this week, see you next week." Good to know for the next DriveTime holiday (DriveTime Arborday Break?)

anonymous -- the whole extension thing seems like a farce. Don't you have to go through the motions and estimate your filing? See, now you don't have to deal with that virtual sword of Damocles hanging over you.

justin -- where are you (and Steve) when I take these DriveTime breaks?! Rustling branches in Studio-A for DriveTime Arborday Break... or maybe Studio-A nuzzling up to Studio-V for the DriveTime Valentine's Day Break.
